February 2019 Round Up

February is a short month to begin with, but with everything going on it seriously felt like it went by in a blink! But that just means we’re that much closer to spring — hallelujah!

I have super exciting news to share with you along with my takeaways from the month. Lets get started, shall we?

3 things I’m excited about

  1. All the plans and celebrations: My husband’s birthday is March 5th. We have a wedding to go to March 9th. We have a big awards ceremony for my industry March 28th. Lots of fun plans coming up! I’m a homebody, but I love having things to look forward to that encourage me to get out and do new things. It’s going to be a busy, fun month!
  2. Well Watered Women: I’m so excited to start using my Well Watered Women products in March. I’ve been wanting their Give Me Jesus journal to use in my quiet time and taking notes during church sermons. I grabbed that and their Flourish study bundle. It seemed perfect for me and I can’t wait to dig in!
  3. Building our new home!!! Oh my goodness yall it’s happening! We have been dreaming about building a new home and moving for a while now and it’s finally a reality. We like our current home and have grown to love the area, but it’s far from our parents and many things we do day to day. I promise I’ll be sharing much more about this soon. Maybe a series on the blog would be fun!? I’d love to share and capture this journey.

Quote I’ve been meditating on

I know this is true, but sometimes I need the reminder. I’m a recovering people pleaser, so I try to make others happy first at the detriment myself. I don’t want to be selfish, but I do want to make sure I’m making myself proud. No matter what I do, someone will have an opinion about it. Most of those people haven’t earned the position in my life to affect me with their opinion.

I’m trying to do my best, but not everyone will agree. I can’t make everyone happy, but what I can do is take the next right step. I can be obedient to the Lord’s calling on my life. I can be considerate of others, but their consideration doesn’t automatically change my course.

Who or what I’m adoring

I’m really enjoying my Orange Theory workouts! I talked about this in my January round up and it’s probably not the last time I mention it. It’s a challenging workout, but that’s what I love about it! I can notice myself getting stronger and my endurance improving. I have a weight loss goal, but more importantly I want to live a healthy, full life with energy and joy!

I look foward to the workouts, even ones that are early morning. It’s been the change I needed to revive my motivation! I know I’m getting in a great workout and then that encourages me to eat well and make better choices. If you’ve never taken a class, try it out! Your first one is free, so why not??

Favorite memory from February

Our Valentine’s Day date at home was lovely.

I picked up a bottle of champagne, Eric brought home chocolate covered strawberries from Vida Dulce, and we ordered Chinese takeout. My ideal evening for sure. Valentine’s Day usually comes with a lot of pressure and I didn’t feel that this year. We exchanged thoughtful cards and saved some money while enjoying each other’s company. It was perfect.

A good lesson I learned

God is good and I can trust the changes.

There have been a lot of changes in our lives, especially over the last year. Although change is usually a bit scary, nerve-wracking, and uncomfortable I’m getting better at it. I’m learning how to trust deeper and let go. I like to plan, but I believe the Lord’s plans are bigger and better than I could ever dream! He shows me that all the time. ❤

In February…

I’m saying no to: mindless scrolling.
I’m saying yes to: worship!

What are you most excited for in March?
