Feb Progress | March Goals 2019

Oh, February. You’re a challenge. You’re a short month, so that means a few less days to accomplish our goals. You’re cold. You’re rainy (some snow in NC would have been nice…)

But regardless, you’re good. Thank you for 28 days to make progress and live well. Thank you, PowerSheets, for encouraging me to stay focused and realistic. Perspective matters, friend.

Everything didn’t get nicely checked off, but that’s totally okay.

Extend grace. Move forward.

February Progress

Monthly Action Items

  • Positive report at appts: February is a hot time for doctor’s appointments in my world because I like to get them out of the way. I had a dentist appointment, an endocrinologist appointment, and a gynecologist appointment. All routine visits, all positive feedback. Health will never be something I take for granted.
  • Learn about Pinterest for blog: I had good intentions, but this didn’t happen in February. We got a little busy and it moved down my priority list, so it’s moving to March.
  • Add $4,000 to savings: We made progress here, but not as much as I had planned. That’s alright. Progress over perfection! We’re moving in the right direction and have a good game plan to meet our overall savings goal!
  • 3 sales: Yay this was accomplished! Actually even above and beyond my goal of 3. What a blessing. I transitioned to working in a different community in February. I had a great experience at my previous and I’m excited for what’s to come in my new work “home.”
  • Cultivate productive work rhythm: Speaking of transition, I wanted to get into a good rhythm at work. It’s tricky because you can plan your day, but at any moment get completely thrown off your intended plans. I’m establishing systems to help me stay organized and on top of things even if my day goes differently than expected.

I’m proud of what I did with these weekly items. My biggest struggle continues to be rest. It sounds silly, but soul rest is harder to achieve than I thought. I don’t mean rest as in laying around watching Netflix all day. Although it can be occasionally, I don’t usually feel rested after a day like that. Mainly just unproductive and frumpy. But there’s a time for everything.

The rest I’m striving for is deep soul rest. Doing things that give my mind and heart space. That allow them to take a break and just be. I’ve been learning about Sabbath and I think that’s exactly the practice I need. We’re called to rest and slow down at least once a week. I used to be afraid of slowing down because I didn’t want to get behind. Now I know that’s the only way to get ahead well.

Good habits are forming here!

When I first decided to add “show up well” to my tending list, I almost took it off. I’m a 27 year old woman. Why do I need a goal to arrive early and get ready with effort? Because that’s an area where I struggle. I’m realizing no goal is too small or insignificant if it’s on the path to making a difference in my life.

Showing up well means I’m prioritizing myself and whatever I have in store for my day. I’m taking the time to increase my confidence because I put the extra effort into my appearance. I usually underestimate how long this will actually take, so I’m figuring out little tricks to help me be successful, like setting an alarm to leave that’s actually 10 minutes earlier than I need.

Planning on being early has made a difference in my stress level and in the way others perceive me. I know we’re all guilty of it, but I feel rude when I’m late to an appointment. Plus it means I’m rushing and starting off on the wrong foot. It’s an extra 5 minutes of effort and intention that goes so far.

My PowerSheets have helped me accomplish amazing goals – big and small. One of our biggest came to fruition at the very end of February. It all evolved so quickly and it didn’t even seem possible at the beginning of the month. It wasn’t even on my tending list aside from saving for it! Wow.

God moves. He’s answering a prayer that we’ve had on our hearts for quite some time. If you’ve been waiting, hoping, praying for something that seems impossible, but you feel called to it persevere. Keep praying. Keep waiting patiently. Your story isn’t over – it’s just beginning.
