July 1st marks the official halfway point of the year.

This means half of 2019 is gone. More importantly, half of 2019 is yet to come. Well a little less than half now, but you get it.

So much goodness is yet to be done this year! July can by your new January. It’s not too late to set and achieve your goals. PowerSheets have become an integral part of my monthly rhythm. They encourage me to set meaningful goals and cultivate a life I love. You can still grab an undated 6 month set for 30% off here.

If you’re new here or maybe you stumbled upon this corner of the internet because you’re searching for Tending List inspiration, I have months and months of posts just like this sharing my progress and goals — check em out here.

Now that your PowerSheets are on the way and you have 2.5 years worth of posts to help guide you, lets see what happened last month and what’s to come!

June Progress

Monthly Action Items

  • Unplug for a “weekend”: This didn’t happen. I did have good time away, but I didn’t take a break from my phone as I had intended.
  • Add $4,000 to house savings: Yes! We were able to accomplish this. We added $6,126.53 to our home savings in the month of June!
  • 4 sales: Halfway there for a total of 2 sales. Half progress is better than no progress and means more room for growth this month!
  • Fun at Battle of the Builders: We had a blast!! It was my first time participating and I’m so glad I did! Our team went all out with our costumes (everyone even wore glitter!) and our set up. Although we didn’t win, we had an awesome time and we’re ready to come for the title next year 😉

  • Enjoy beach trip: Our beach trip was perfect! Another couple joined us – some good friends from Ohio. We haven’t been able to see them in years, so it was extra special to have them there! The weather was sunny and we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves. It was much needed time away.

  • Refresh summer wardrobe – suits/clothes: Added a few high waisted bathing suits and some new clothes to my wardrobe. I shopped Amazon for my fave new bathing suit and ThredUp for the clothes. I’m all about saving money and environment, so shopping secondhand is a win! Shop my Amazon favorites here. Shop secondhand + get $10 off at ThredUp here.
  • Increase blog views: I unexpectedly took a two week break from posting in June — I wasn’t feeling inspired and needed some rest. June’s views didn’t surpass May’s, but that’s okay. I realized I would rather focus on creating content for you that I enjoy instead of view count. If I’m enjoying it and creating posts I’m passionate about, the rest will follow.

Weekly Action Items

  • Love Eric well — Achieved 4/4 weeks
  • Practice Sabbath — Achieved 1/4 weeks
  • Consistent wellness – release weight — Achieved 3/4 weeks
  • Care for plants — Achieved 3/4 weeks
  • Style hair — crossed it off the action items for now…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s totally okay to cancel an action item if it’s no longer in alignment. I’ve put “style hair” on my tending list for a few months now and I constantly struggle with it. I don’t know where you live, but in North Carolina it’s been HOT! By the end of the day (or even by mid morning…) my hair is up anyways, so why use my precious time before work doing it? Pretty soon after the month started I decided this may not be the season for worrying about styled hair. And that’s okay.

The beautiful thing about the tending list in my PowerSheets is it allows me to check in with myself daily. Where should I make progress? What’s working? What isn’t working? What would I like to continue working on next month? How am I feeling about this action item? I can evaluate and evolve as much as I need.

Daily Action Items

  • Pray — Achieved 25/30 days
  • Top 3 — Achieved 25/30 days
  • 7+ hours of sleep — Achieved 19/30 days
  • $ on essentials — Achieved 20/30 days

No where near perfect month, but I’m pleased with my progress. I can guarantee I was more intentional and did these action items more often because they were front of mind and written down.

Sleep continues to be a challenge, especially with my husband’s late nights at work. He owns an ice cream shop, so as you can imagine summer nights are busy! Luckily my work days don’t start until 10am and I try to schedule things like workouts or chiropractor appointments even later when I can. But some nights long conversations and/or Netflix wins.

I’m still working on it and trying to be more mindful about when it’s worth it (or when I can make it up by sleeping in later) and when I need to shut it down for the night. I feel my best when I’ve gotten enough sleep — I want a full night to be the norm. I’m yawning right now writing this while I’m waiting for my husband to get home (it’s currently 11pm). Bedtime is very soon.
